The beach location is easily accessible from the lake shore drive. There is a TTC bus stop right next to the beach providing easy access. Car parking is available but limited. It costs about 1.25$ for every half hour. The parking location can get super crowded on weekends and in summer. Best to come by TTC during those times. There is a Long boardwalk that connects all the beaches along the lake. Lot of people do exercise walking and jogging here. There are lots of dogs here too. You can come here and relax on the benches for people and dog watching. The beach is a long walk from the board walk. Definitely recommend to visit here.
This is a nice accessible small park near the STC. There is free car parking after 6pm and weekends. There is a good amount of park benches to relax and have Timmies. Plenty of condos nearby and people bring there dogs to the gated dog park which is an awesome sight to watch. There are some artistic structures all around which adds a flare to the ambiance. The park is well maintained in summers. You would not be walk around this park as the pathway ends up at Lawrence but you can walk around the whole community which appears pretty nice. We tried walking around ignoring the bumpy landscape and disappointed to find beer bottles and cigarette joints underneath the park benches in the shade. If you are bringing your dog or plan to watch dogs, this is a definite recommend.
I recently visited Centennial Park for a family picnic and overall, it was a delightful experience. The best part was the ample free parking available, which made our visit hassle-free. The park boasts a picturesque pond that added to the serene atmosphere, and we enjoyed watching the ducks and other wildlife.
Another highlight was the free entry to the beautiful greenhouse, where we explored a wide variety of plants and flowers. It was a great educational experience for the kids. The picnic areas were well-maintained and provided a comfortable setting for families to relax and enjoy a meal together.
However, I must mention that the park tends to get crowded in the evenings, especially on weekends, which can be a bit overwhelming. Additionally, there were instances of Canadian geese causing minor disturbances, and some dog owners neglecting to pick up after their pets, which was a disappointment.
Overall, despite these minor inconveniences, Centennial Park is a lovely spot for family picnics, offering free parking, a scenic pond, and a fascinating greenhouse to explore. With a bit of planning to avoid peak hours, it can be a wonderful place to spend quality time with loved ones in a natural setting.
