We had an exceptional stay at Cavas. The staff go above and beyond for guests. Even before our arrival, staff were incredibly helpful and responsive in planning out all of our winery visits and other activities. Their English is impeccable.
We got in early so our room wasn’t ready but they let us use the spa to change and shower if we wanted. When we came back from lunch, they had our room ready and brought us straight there with our bags already inside.
The room and property of course are fantastic. The room feels very private and even the common spaces feel very intimate and relaxed since the hotel is so small. You can always find a spot on the property with a great view! The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was nice. I enjoyed using the bathtub and the bath salts they provided. The best part is the terrace with stunning views of the mountains. They will light the terrace fireplace at any time for you. We also had breakfast on our terrace one morning. The pool was unfortunately a bit chilly as it’s not heated and we still had cool nights/mornings. The whole space, even while outside, felt very private.
Each night the staff seemed to do a brief second round of housekeeping where they would set out water on each side of the bed, move the slippers bedside, turn on the lamps, and refill the bath salts. It was such a nice touch to help us feel at home.
Additionally, the staff organize entertainment for guests frequently. There was a lovely piano performance our first night and then we saw a tango performance another night. The dancers helped teach a basic tango step too. They do asado for guests every few days and have olive oil and wine tastings.
I did the Bonarda wine bath and loved it. It was very relaxing and they set out some water, tea, and sweets. We did the cooking class with the chef as well where we made empanadas and tomatican (an egg, tomato, pepper dish from the area).
Marcos and Luis from Wine Safari we’re wonderful drivers! We enjoyed meeting them and learning more about the region from them.
